At 28 I wove together my love for children and my love for music and earned my Master\u2019s in Music Education with an emphasis in Kod\u00e1ly at Holy Names University.\ud83c\udf93<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Learning about Zolt\u00e1n Kod\u00e1ly\u2019s philosophy on music education, and discovering the tools and strategies used in a Kod\u00e1ly classroom, ignited in me a deep passion for teaching music, one I live for every day! Kod\u00e1ly not only believed all children deserve music education, and that creating music and singing is an essential part of the human existence, but that it is nourishment for the soul. \u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83e\ude79
I have now been a Kod\u00e1ly music teacher for preschool through 6th grade for more than 20 years! I have used the Kod\u00e1ly approach in youth ensembles, and adult classes and choirs, and I am constantly filled with joy witnessing musical learning and skill building, and ultimately, students connecting with their own hearts and connecting to others through singing\u2728\ud83c\udfb6<\/p>\n\n\n\n
